Before I get into this, I’d like to thank everybody who has donated to support NJ Ember’s grandfather. The thank you stories are my number one priority, and I’ve been working on them as soon as they come in. This is an open offer with no deadline.
Yesterday was Canada Day up here. I spent it attending events at the local museum and downtown, and enjoying the company of some good friends.
First things first, one of my vampire novellas will be featured in a little summer vampire event. I haven’t decided which one I’d like showcased, so I thought I’d ask your opinion.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve been working on some free content for newsletter subscribers on the side while also working through more Heavy Metal Hunters books. One thing I’ve been working on is a new Heavy Metal novella. Unfortunately, it’s hard to work on writing two full stories at the same time so I decided to try something else.
Over the years, I’ve written a lot of short stories. Some of them have been previously published. Some have not. All of them have been sitting in a folder for years collecting dust. Every 2-4 business years, I talk about bundling them. Well, this time I am. I need a little bit of time to rewrite a couple and source a cover, but I’m hoping to get this out later in the summer. If you don’t want to wait for the whole bundle, I’ll be starting to share them one by one to a separate newsletter section soon.
Since short stories are much quicker to write, I might try to add in a couple more new ones. Plus, writing something short and self-contained is refreshing sometimes, and makes it easier to get back into longer works. I’d love to have something in the Barrier Witch universe for this collection. I do have a longer Barrier Witch story coming in 2026, but in the meantime, I know a lot of people have been missing those characters, myself included. So I thought I’d open the floor for some input! After all, it is a gift for YOU.
And for completion’s sake:
In the meantime, I hope the heat isn’t too bad where you are and that you’re staying cool.
Working my way through these unique stories. I refer to these as the dark side of Rocktoberfest since I have a few of them that I’m reviewing.
